RAMEY LLP filed a patent infringement lawsuit on behalf of CYBOENERGY, INC. against NORTHERN ELECTRIC POWER TECHNOLOGY, INC. on November 27, 2023, in the Northern District of California. The lawsuit states that NORTHERN ELECTRIC POWER TECHNOLOGY, INC. infringed on two of CYBOENERGY'S patents, namely U.S. Patent No. 8,786,133 and U.S. Patent No. 9,331,488.
The first patent, U.S. Patent No. 8,786,133, is titled "Smart and Scalable Power Inverters." The patent covers a system and method for controlling a power inverter in a solar power system. The system includes a controller that receives input from a sensor and determines whether to operate the inverter in a smart or scalable mode. In smart mode, the inverter operates to maximize power output under all lighting conditions. In scalable mode, the inverter operates to maximize power output under low lighting conditions.
The second patent, U.S. Patent No. 9,331,488, is titled "Maximizing Power Production at Low Sunlight by Solar Power Mini-Inverters." The patent covers Enclosure and Message System of Smart and Scalable Power Inverters.
