Intellectual property law firm Ramey & Schwaller is pleased to announce that Craig Buschmann has joined the practice, enhancing Ramey & Schwaller's expertise in the oil and gas industry.
Mr. Buschmann advises clients on how to best protect and exploit their valuable intellectual property, whether through patent, trademark, or copyright. He drafts and guides clients' patent and trademark applications in the United States and internationally, and litigates complex patent, trademark and licensing cases. His experience includes mechanical and electromechanical technology in the areas of oil and gas exploration and processing, hydraulic systems, construction equipment, aerospace, automotive, sporting goods, medical devices (including laparoscopic and endoscopic tools, and orthopaedic implants), semiconductors and semiconductor packaging.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Buschmann spent several years working for Schlumberger Oilfield Services as a field engineer on projects in Bolivia, Barbados, and the Gulf of Mexico. He also has practical engineering experience with GE Medical Systems and Johnson Controls' Automotive Systems Group.
Mr. Buschmann joins Ramey & Schwaller from Brinks Gilson & Lione, where he was co-chair of the Chemical, Energy, and Agriculture practice group. Before that, he was an associate at Holme Roberts & Owen.

Mr. Buschmann earned his B.Sci. Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Michigan and his J.D. degree from the Boston University School of Law. Mountain States Super Lawyers® recognized Mr. Buschmann as a “Rising Star” in Intellectual Property practice in 2010 through 2016. He serves on the board and is the former chairman of the Society of Petroleum Engineers – Salt Lake Section.
