AML IP, LLC has initiated legal proceedings against 7-Eleven, Inc., one of the world's largest convenience store chains. The lawsuit, filed on January 22, 2025, in the Western District of Texas, Midland/Odessa Division, focuses on technology central to electronic commerce transactions.

At issue is U.S. Patent No.  7,177,838, which covers "Method and Apparatus for Conducting Electronic Commerce Transactions Using Electronic Tokens." This technology is particularly relevant in today's retail landscape, where digital payment systems and electronic transactions have become fundamental to daily operations.

AML IP, LLC, represented by Ramey LLP, has filed an Original Complaint and demanded a jury trial to address the patent infringement.
