Ramey LLP has filed a patent infringement lawsuit on behalf of its client, VDPP, LLC, against ALPINION USA, INC. The lawsuit, filed on July 15, 2025, in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, involves the infringement of two patents:

U.S. Patent No. 9,699,444 – “Faster State Transitioning for Continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles Using Multilayered Variable Tint Materials”

U.S. Patent No. 9,716,874 – “Continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles for Optimized 3Deeps Stereoscopic Viewing, Control Method and Means Therefore, and System and Method of Generating and Displaying a Modified Video”
The patented technologies are designed to enhance eyewear performance by enabling fast, dynamic tint adjustments using multilayered variable tint materials. This innovation supports smoother transitions and improved visual clarity in changing lighting conditions. Applications range from driving and sports to general outdoor use and advanced stereoscopic video viewing.
VDPP, LLC is seeking monetary damages for past infringement and is also requesting a court-issued injunction to prevent ALPINION USA, INC. from continuing to use or sell products that infringe on the patented technologies.
