On August 29, 2025, Ramey LLP filed a patent infringement lawsuit on behalf of its client, YOPIMA, LLC, against DOORDASH, INC., GRUBHUB HOLDINGS INC., d/b/a GRUBHUB, INC., NEUTRON HOLDINGS, INC., D/B/A LIME, and NEIGHBORFAVOR, INC. The complaint was filed in the Western District of Texas, Midland/Odessa Division.
The lawsuit centers on the infringement of U.S. Patent No. 9,119,038, which is titled “Systems and Methods for Comparative Geofencing.” This innovative patented technology enables comparative location-based data analysis, a critical function in modern mobile services, advertising, and user analytics.
YOPIMA, LLC has filed an Original Complaint and a demand for a jury trial, seeking to hold the defendants accountable for the unauthorized use of its patented technology. The legal action aims to protect YOPIMA's valuable intellectual property rights and ensure its innovations are properly defended.
